I'm both a manager, developer, and a hobby gamer. I needed a laptop that could take me playing a few hours of video games, or could allow me to sit through meetings and type up my notes.
This laptop has covered both of those perfectly. If you check out comparison sites for its graphics card, you will see that it has about a midrange card (the 555M, that is). This can play Skyrim at high (but not ultra) settings at about 30 FPS (so it may lag a little bit compared to a high-end card, but I haven't had that issue).
In addition, it has this little switch in the front. When you flick it, it will switch between modes. The first default mode utilizes the integrated Intel 3000 card, and tweaks settings in order to conserve battery power. When you flick it again, a little white light will come on. This turns on the nVidia 555M, brightens your screen a bit, and tweaks settings to prefer power over battery life.

If you are thinking of buying a Y570 with the intention of gaming, please reconsider and choose another laptop. The Y570, while a nice laptop for non-gaming applications, overheats and stutters while running 3d games. The only way to get the laptop to run games without overheating and stuttering is by hamstringing your CPU to only use 85% of processor power.

I also had a separate issue where my Y570 black screened on waking up from sleep and corrupted the operating system within 2 months of purchase. The dual SSD/HDD solution that Lenovo has in place makes it difficult for the end-user to re-install Windows 7 so I had to send it out to florida so Lenovo could fix it which took a couple weeks.
I will certainly never buy another Lenovo product again. I am very disappointed in the quality of this $1000 laptop.
